The ICCRS Leadership Training Course is for people of all ages, from charismatic organisations worldwide who want to spend some time of their lives being formed in leadership within the CCR.

The ICCRS – Leadership Training Course, which is a one week school, is a way to help foster Leadership in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal worldwide. ICCRS is pleased to partner with local Charismatic realities in order to provide this week-long program that will call and empower new leaders as well as strengthen and encourage current leaders. Townsville has been chosen to host this special event, which will be a first for Australia. We are hoping to draw delegates from across Australia, New Zealand and possibly Indonesia. We are expecting 100 + people to attend.

Because this is a course that specialises in training leaders, any participants wishing to attend the School will need a letter of endorsement from their State Service Committee sent to the National level for approval.

The Course includes Mass, holy hour and charismatic praise and worship on a daily basis. In addition there will be periods of time throughout the program for fellowship and community building, as well as opportunities for the participants to receive ministry.

Teaching will be a large component of the Course. The teaching component will cover two basic areas:

Teaching the foundations and vision of Catholic Charismatic Renewal
Practical help and ideas for ministry.

The foundation/vision aspect of the curriculum includes Ecclesiology, an understanding of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the history and workings of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and a theology of Mission. The area of practical helps and teaching for ministry will cover the following:

Elements of a Prayer Meeting (praise and worship/ how to give a teaching/prophecy/prayer ministry, etc.)
Basic techniques of evangelisation
The Life of a Leader
The evening programs which will allow time for reflection and to receive ministry include: The Father, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, The Body of Christ, The Good News of the Gospel

The last night will be an Open Rally for local people to attend. The course will also include a half day excursion/pilgrimage to a sacred site. This is a one week live in intensive course, beginning on Wednesday the 29th, and finishing Wednesday night 6th July 2011. However delegates will be able to stay extra days should they wish. The venue is James Cook University’s St. Raphael’s and St. Paul’s College. Prayer Group Leaders are encouraged to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity for this time of Formation and Leadership Training in Australia, and begin praying and discerning for potential candidates to attend, as well as having this time to strengthen and support their own call to Leadership.

The National Service Committee are extremely grateful to Trudy Clark (Townsville) and her team along with Vince Fitzwilliam (Sydney) for their enthusiasm and tremendous effort in organising this event. Two days after the School finishes, CCR Cairns will host the QLD State Conference at Gennezzano July 8th – 10th 2011. Jim Murphy and Fr. Ken Barker will present at this conference. Delegates attending the ICCRS LTC are invited to consider continuing their spiritual journey from Townsville, by attending the QLD State Conference. The flight to Cairns takes about 1 hour, and then delegates will travel by bus to the venue at Genezzano (1 hour).
